There could be a number of reasons when normal soft contact lenses do not meet a patient's expectations in regards to vision and comfort.  Specialty contact lenses are FDA approved contact lenses that can help meet a patient's visual demands throughout the day.

Dr. Alan Ng

Dr. Ng pursued an interest in the field of contact lenses by completing a residency in cornea and contact lens at University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science. During his residency, he had the opportunity to manage patients with ocular surface conditions including severe dry eyes, Sjogrens syndrome, neurotrophic keratopathy, and keratoconus/corneal ectasia. In addition, Dr. Ng is experienced with fitting speciality contact lenses including orthokeratology lenses and corneal rigid gas permeable and scleral contact lenses for irregularly shaped corneas.
